WHY IS HONEY BENEFICIAL FOR HAIR?
- Honey is known for its softening quality. It is widely used in many cosmetics and hair-related products as a natural softener. It acts a great conditioner as it softens your hair and leaves it smoothened!
- Honey is a natural humectant as well, that is, it prevents the loss of moisture from the hair, which helps to keep your hair follicles healthier. As it contains a high amount of sugar, it has a natural tendency to retain moisture which in turn, prevents hair fall and strengthen hair follicles.
- Since honey is a calmative agent, researches have also proved that proper use of honey can stimulate the hair follicles that are responsible for hair growth. Thus, it plays an important role in hair follicle stimulation and hair growth.
- Don’t forget, honey also has antiseptic and antibacterial properties that helps to keep your scalp dandruff-free and protects you against psoriasis or any other scalp infections.
HOW TO USE HONEY FOR HEALTHY HAIR?
Honey has gained a lot of poise among the hair-treatment lotions and conditioners. Let us see how…..
METHOD-1- JUST HONEY:
It’s not advisable to use the sticky honey directly on your hair. Mix 1/4th cup (around 50ml) of raw honey with little water- just enough to get a good consistency to be applied on your hair. However, you need to keep a note of the amount of honey according to your hair length and volume. Once the mixture is ready, apply I on your damp hair, similar to how you would apply your shampoo. Leave it for 3moinutes and then rinse it off with warm water.
METHOD-2- HONEY AND APPLE CIDER VINEGAR:
Mix 1/4th cup of raw organic honey with approximately 10 tbsps of apple cider vinegar in a bowl. Apply it on your damp hair and leave it for 15minutes. Rinse it off with warm water. The Apple cider vinegar also acts as conditioner and leaves behind a lustrous shine on your hair!
METHOD-3- HONEY AND OLIVE OIL:
Olive oil is known to promote healthy scalp and hair roots. It helps in smoothening damaged hair shafts, giving a new look to your damaged hair. Mix ½ cup of honey with 1/4th cup of olive oil. Warm it a bit, if required. Apply it on your hair as desired. Rinse it off in sometime with warm water.
METHOD-4- HONEY AND COCONUT OIL:
Coconut oil, our very own favorite, is extremely known for its role in healthy hair! Coconut oil moisturizes the hair and its roots, facilitating hair growth. Blend in 1/4th cup of honey with 3tbsps of warmed coconut oil. Apply it on your damp hair and leave it for 10minutes and rinse it off with warm water.
So, now that we know the enriching qualities of our sweet and lustrous HONEY, I would highly recommend one to use only RAW ORGANIC HONEY for its above mentioned benefits. Also, in case you are hesitant to make these natural treatments, you can mix little honey to your shampoo or conditioner before use. So, get up and make your hair as healthy as never before!
